Preparations
Since the usual concentration of carbon dioxide in natural air is only about 0.03%, it is rather difficult to observe changes in CO2 or O2 concentration in a gas detector tube.
However, the change appears clearly, if you use the following procedure.

You will need:
  1. One leafy potted plant
  2. One sturdy polyethylene bag (5 to 10 litre capacity)
  3. One drinking straw
  4. Adhesive tape (cellophane tape etc.)
  5. Scissors
  6. Gas detection equipment, comprising:
    1. Gas sampling pump
    2. Carbon dioxide detector tube 2EL
    3. Carbon dioxide detector tube 2EH
    4. Oxygen detector tube 31E
