[PYROTEC 840]
![]() |
GASTEC developed the Pyrotec pyrolyzer system to enable precise and easy detection of fluorochlorocarbon gases. It converts fluorochlorocarbon gases or halogenated hydrocarbons (using a process known as thermal cracking) into an easily detectable/measurable gas.

The primary step towards being able to prevent hazardous gas generation at the workplace, as part of occupational hygiene and pollution control, is to acquire accurate data regarding the emitted gas types and their concentration levels. Our hazardous gas detection kit consists of 12 detector tubes.

TG-2 utilises two different types of sampling pumps to obtain data on hazardous gas for integrated analysis. Even newer multi-component gases can be detected and assessed with the AGS-10 sampling pump and the 11 types of detector tubes it comes with; so, it is ideally suited for use in assessing emergency air supplies.

[AGS-10]
![]() Using a compressed air/gas cylinder, a specific depressurised state is achieved whereby the target gas is sucked in, so it can be assessed using a detector tube.A 280mL high-pressure gas container and respirator unit are used. The gas/air can be transferred from separate high-pressure gas containers, such as air respirators/regulators. |

The Environmental Agency of Japan recommends this kit as a means of exhaust gas detection. This kit is in use primarily at such smog generating sources as turbines and diesel engines. The GASTEC SG-1/SG-2 measuring system has been approved for three gases: sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and oxygen.

The activated carbon or silica gel tube is used in work environments where organic-solvent vapour is collected. Generally the activated carbon tube is suited for detection of almost all organic solvents of low polarity and the silica gel tube is for substances of high polarity (e.g. acetone, methanol, etc.). Both ends of the tube are broken off, and it is then inserted into a diaphragm pump, with which a gas sample is aspirated (drawn in). The gas is then extracted with a solvent (e.g. CS2), for subsequent gas chromatographic determination.

The GASTEC gas pack is for determining the presence of nitrogen dioxide at the work place. Essentially, it samples the air in a certain area for longer periods enabling the concentration of any NO2 in the air to be ascertained by examining the degree of colouration of a liquid reagent. It is not susceptible to the effects of wind velocity, temperature, humidity, etc.
